Below you may find some authentic customer questions that we come across quite often, so we thought we'd post our expert's answers so you can benefit from them. We will keep adding additional Q&A over time, but in the meantime if you have a question feel free to call us at 713-936-5720
My parents moved into a new home and gave me their old oriental rug. It's old and beautiful, but also in a terrible state. Is it worth keeping?
Old oriental rugs are real gems and no doubt have sentimental value as well, it's because they symbolize memories of the past or your heritage. There is no reason to give up on that rug! UCM Services Houston will be happy to come out to your home for a free onsite evaluation. Our experienced professionals will determine what results we expect to achieve on your rug. If we feel it cannot be cleaned, we will let you know and part as friends. However, in most cases, we are able to work wonders on area rugs! An old oriental rug will probably benefit most from a full treatment at our workshop. Don't worry, we provide complimentary free pickup and drop off!
We went away for the weekend and my daughter left her window open. Now the carpet in her room is soaked and has a bit of an odor as well. What do I do now???
Don't worry - UCM Services Houston is here to help. First off all, give us a call here at 713-936-5720. We offer emergency services at the same day and will be at your location ASAP. In the meantime, if you have your own rug doctor, try to use it to extract as much water it is able to. If it's no longer raining, get that window open while also turning on the Heating and bringing a fan in there if you have one. When it comes to water damage, time is of the essence, the quicker it is dealt with, the more minimal the damage. Your first aid to your carpet is an important step until we come in. At that point we will use our industrial strength water extraction to get it all out of there. We will apply mold and mildew treatment, and it is also likely that your carpet padding will have to be replaced, and perhaps the flooring underneath sanitized. But we should be able to save your carpet, which saves you thousands of dollars!
